Evans poses the PhD in Strategic Management (UK), Master in Business Administration (UK), Fellow Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice (FCPA) He is a Member of Institute of Director (MIDT) certified by the Tanzania Institute of Directors. He is a Fellow member of Tanzania Association of Accountants and a Board Member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors NBAA. His career started in 1988 when he joined Coopers & Lybrand/PricewaterhouseCoopers one of the largest global networks of Accounting and Advisory firms offering industry-focused assurance, tax and advisory services for public and private clients.

He has served various organizations at senior levels these include Director of Finance and Administration – Action Aid International, Chief Executive Officer and National Expert at Kilimanjaro Industrial Development Trust (one of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Integrated Programme for Capacity Building to Enhance Industrial Competitiveness and Sustainability in Tanzania), Capacity Development Advisor to the Federal Micro and Small Enterprise Development Agency (FeMSEDA), at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the UNIDO’s organization responsible for the promotion of Micro and Small Enterprises in Ethiopia, Chief Executive Officer, Social Action Trust Fund a Development Finance Institution in Tanzania and of late as the Executive Director for Tanzania Private Sector Foundation and Partner with Global Finance and Business Solutions.
